Joining an existing vanpool is a quick, easy, and affordable way to make your work commute more enjoyable. Pace’s Vanpool Incentive Program (VIP) numbers more than 500 Vanpools from all corners of Pace’s 6-county service region.

This interactive mapping tool is an innovative way for you to find an existing Vanpool.  When you locate a Vanpool you are interested in joining, email us at vip.rep@pacebus.com.  For more information, or to form a brand new Vanpool, email vip.sales@pacebus.com.

REGISTER ON SHARETHEDRIVE & REGISTER ON VANPOOL FINDER

ShareTheDrive is a regional rideshare database. When you register, the program matches you with other people that have similar commuting preferences. Although ShareTheDrive and Vanpool Finder register options are similar, it is a good idea to register at both places, because the databases contain different sets of entries. (Maybe we will combine them in the future.)

STARTING OVER

If you mistakenly enter the wrong search parameters, please click on Back to Last Page to begin a fresh search.  (To ensure that a brand-new search is performed, please do not use your browser’s Back button.  Click Back to Last Page instead.)

SEARCH RESULTS

The results of your search are shown on an interactive map with the origin/destination addresses or municipalities represented as two green dots.  A search for All Vanpool Routes shows all Vanpool routes in the six-county region--Zoom In (see below) as needed to see detail.

When a Vanpool is found, the route is highlighted in red on the map.  If more than one Vanpool is found, all routes appear in red on the map.  Details about the Vanpool(s) are shown in the table below the map.  Check the table to ensure that the origin/destination are correct , and to determine whether the start and end times meet your needs.

To view one particular route, enter the route number in Highlight (see below) to view the route on the map in yellow.  When you find a Vanpool you are interested in joining, contact Pace at vip.rep@pacebus.com.

If no Vanpool is found, the map will show only two green dots representing the origin and destination.

MAP MANIPULATION TOOLS: ZOOM IN, ZOOM OUT, REPOSITION

Ø        Click the button beside Zoom In, position the pointer over the map and left-click to decrease the scale and see a smaller area.

Ø        Click the button beside Zoom Out, position the pointer over the map, and left-click to increase the scale and see a larger area.

Ø        To re-center the map, click the button beside Reposition, then position the pointer where you would like the map to center and left-click.

To increase the speed at which the map loads and re-loads, increase the Factor.

LAYER VISIBILITY CONTROL

These controls allow you to add and remove different layers of information to and from the map.   Data which can be added/removed from the routes includes:

Ø        Vanpool Routes

Ø        Interstates

Ø        U.S. Highways

Ø        State Highways

Ø        Major Roads

Ø        Pace Park-n-Ride Lots

Ø        Cities

Check and uncheck the boxes as desired, then click on the Refresh Map button to add or remove layer(s) of information.  Greater levels of detail are more easily visible when the map is zoomed-in, displaying a relatively small area.  Do not add many layers of information to a map displaying a large geographical area as the map will be difficult to read.

QUERY

Use this tool to see detailed information about all Vanpools in a certain destination or origin muncipality, or information about one particular Vanpool.  Select destination, origin, or vanpool number using the pull-down menu, enter the information, then click Enter.  The results of this query are not displayed on the map, but are shown in the table below the map.  To view a particular route on the map, enter the route number in Highlight (see below).  To view every route found by the query, click on the Show All (see below) button.

HIGHLIGHT

This tool makes it easy to see one particular Vanpool route on the map.  To highlight a route, enter the Vanpool number and press Enter.  The Vanpool route is highlighted on the map in yellow.  (To find a Vanpool number, see Query above.)

SHOW ALL

Click on the Show All button to see every Vanpool route found as the result of a Query (see above).
